鹿児島県・奄美大島北東部、笠利町に位置する
あやまる岬。
島の先端から大海原を望むこの岬は、
空と風の表情がとても豊かな場所です。
この映像では、低層雲や高層雲が風に乗り、
自由に大空を舞う様子を、
約1分30秒のタイムラプスで切り取りました。
撮影した日は、秋の長雨の影響か、
すっきりしない空模様が続いていました。
気分まで少し湿りがちになりながらも、
展望の素晴らしいあやまる岬の展望台へ足を運びました。
海は、いつもの奄美らしい青とは違い、
空のグレーをそのまま映し出したような静かな色。
思い描いていた景色とは、
少し違っていたかもしれません。
けれど、ふと空を見上げると、
無数の雲が風に乗り、
絶えず形を変えながら動き回っていました。
その雲の隙間から差し込む強い光が、
まるで舞台照明のように雲を照らし出し、
白い雲にスポットライトを当てているかのようでした。
雲が踊り、光が舞う——
そんな光景をしばらく眺めているうちに、
いつの間にか、心の中まで
カラッと晴れていくのを感じました。
ここに、美しき日本があります。

Cape Ayamaru is located in Kasari Town, on the northeastern tip of
Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture.
This cape offers sweeping views of the open sea and is a place where
the expressions of sky and wind are constantly changing.
In this video, I captured the movement of low and high clouds drifting freely across the vast sky, carried by the wind, in a time-lapse of about one and a half minutes.
On the day of filming, unsettled weather continued, perhaps due to the long autumn rains.
With my mood feeling slightly heavy, I decided to visit the observation deck at Cape Ayamaru, known for its breathtaking views.
The sea reflected the gray tones of the sky—
different from the vivid blues I had imagined,
quiet and subdued.
Yet when I looked up, the sky was alive.
Countless clouds danced across the heavens, riding the wind without pause.
Strong sunlight broke through the clouds, illuminating them as if stage lights were being cast upon pure white forms.
It felt as though I was watching a performance unfolding in the sky.
As I continued to gaze at the dancing clouds and the swirling light,
my own heart slowly cleared,
as if the clouds within me had drifted away.
Here lies the beauty of Japan.
