ここは、佐賀県太良町に鎮座する大魚神社（おおうおじんじゃ）の海中鳥居。
有明海は、日本一の干満差を誇る海で、その差はおよそ６メートルにも及びます。
潮が満ちると鳥居は静かに海に沈み、引き潮のときには大地に姿を現す。
その光景はまるで、月の引力がかたちを持って現れたかのようです。
今回は満潮まで撮影できませんでしたが、
遠くに見えていた波打ち際が、いつの間にか鳥居の足元まで迫ってきました。
ゆっくりと、しかし確実に変わっていくその姿は、まさに自然の呼吸そのもの。
この場所では、１日２回の満潮と２回の干潮が繰り返され、
約６時間をかけて海は満ち、また引いていきます。
自然のリズムと時間の流れを、目に見えるかたちで感じられる場所です。
The Ariake Sea — where the pull of the moon paints the tides.
A landscape that breathes with the rhythm of the Earth.
The Sea Torii of Ōuo Shrine stands in Tara, Saga Prefecture, facing the Ariake Sea —
a body of water known for Japan’s greatest tidal range, nearly six meters.
When the tide rises, the torii quietly sinks beneath the waves; when it falls, it stands again upon the earth.
It feels as though the invisible pull of the moon has taken shape before our eyes.
Though I could not film until high tide,
the shoreline in the distance slowly crept closer,
and before long, the waves reached the base of the torii.
That gentle, steady change — a rhythm of nature itself — was mesmerizing to watch.
Here, the tide flows in and out twice a day,
taking six hours to rise and another six to fall.
A place where the rhythm of the sea and the flow of time
become visible to the soul.
