ここは、富士五湖のひとつ、精進湖です。
2025年2月の晦日、湖面はほぼ全面が凍りついていました。冬の終わりとは思えないような、張りつめた冷たさが辺りを包んでいました。それでも、その厳しい寒さ以上に心を惹かれたのは、空に浮かぶ雲の動きでした。
富士山の頂にぽつんと浮かぶ雲は、まるで離れ笠のようでした。
できては消え、できては消え、また現れ消えていく。その繰り返しです。強い西風が富士山の斜面にぶつかり、雲が生まれます。そして山頂付近を通って、東の空へ抜けるころには、雲はそっとほどけるように消えていきます。それが繰り返されることで、富士山の頂だけに雲がぐるぐると回っているように見えるのです。
空というのは、不思議ですね。
雲の動きが、大気の流れや見えない何かを、そっと語っているような気がします。
何でもない風景の中に、自然からのメッセージが潜んでいる、そんなふうに感じた朝でした。
This is Lake Shoji-ko, one of the Fuji Five Lakes.
On the last day of February 2025, the lake was almost entirely frozen over. The cold was sharp, wrapping the landscape in a stillness that didn’t feel like winter’s end.
Yet more than the biting chill, it was the movement of the clouds that truly captivated me.
A lone cloud hovered above the summit of Mount Fuji, like a distant kasa-gumo—a cap cloud.
It would form, then disappear. Appear again, then vanish. Over and over.
Strong westerly winds struck the mountain’s slopes, generating clouds that drifted over the summit and gently dissolved into the eastern sky.
As this repeated, it looked as if the clouds were swirling only around the peak—circling in quiet rhythm.
The sky is a mysterious thing.
Watching the clouds, I felt as though the atmosphere itself was trying to say something—something unspoken, yet present.
In an otherwise uneventful morning scene, I sensed a quiet message from nature.
