こちらは、2025年のお正月、静寂に包まれた精進湖の風景です。
駿河湾から流れ込んできた一筋の雲は、まるで天に昇る龍のように長くうねり、樹海の上をゆっくりと這うように進んでいきます。その足跡はしっとりとした霧をまとい、木々の葉先をひとつひとつ濡らしていく——まるで神話の一場面を見ているかのようです。
ぼくはこの雲を「龍神雲」と呼んでいます。精進湖や本栖湖、そして田貫湖で時折姿を現すこの雲は、他の富士五湖、例えば河口湖や山中湖、西湖ではほとんど見かけない、不思議な存在です。
冬の季節には、西の空からゆっくりと運ばれてくるその姿も、春先になると風向きが変わり、東の空から流れ込むようになります。風が変わるたび、龍神雲の行方もまた変わる。そうした自然のリズムを感じながら、ただただ富士山を見つめていたお正月の朝。
心の中で静かに湧き上がる感謝と畏敬の念に包まれながら、時の流れを忘れてその光景を見守っていました。
龍神が天を舞い、霧が森を潤す。その光景は、ただの風景ではなく、自然が紡ぐ神秘の物語のように思えたのです。
This is the serene landscape of Lake Shoji-ko on New Year’s Day, 2025.
A single streak of cloud drifting in from Suruga Bay stretches out like a dragon ascending to the heavens, winding slowly over the sea of trees. Its trail leaves behind a veil of mist, delicately touching the tips of the leaves one by one — as if witnessing a scene from ancient mythology.
I call this cloud the “Ryujin Cloud.” It occasionally appears over Lake Shoji-ko, Lake Motosu-ko, and Lake Tanuki-ko — a mysterious presence that is rarely seen over the other Fuji Five Lakes, such as Lake Kawaguchi-ko, Lake Yamanaka-ko, or Lake Sai-ko.
During the winter months, it drifts gracefully from the western skies. But when spring arrives, the wind changes its course, and the cloud flows in from the east. With each shift in the wind, the path of the Ryujin Cloud changes as well. On that New Year’s morning, I simply gazed at Mount Fuji, attuned to the rhythm of nature’s dance.
Wrapped in a quiet sense of gratitude and reverence, I watched the scene unfold, losing all sense of time.
The dragon danced across the sky, and the mist breathed life into the forest.
It was more than just a landscape—it felt like a sacred tale woven by nature itself.
