ここは静岡県・熱海の滝知山。熱海と聞くと海辺の温泉街を思い浮かべる方が多いかもしれませんが、この山の上から望む相模灘の眺めは、まさに格別です。風が心地よく、広がる水平線が心を解き放ってくれる——そんな場所です。
そしてなぜか、ここではドラマティックな風景に出会う確率がとても高いのです。たとえば昨年の春には、相模灘全体に光のカーテンが降り注ぎ、まるで神が舞い降りるかのような瞬間に立ち会うことができました。

今回の映像を見返してみると、これまで気づかなかったある“現象”に目を奪われました。雲があるところまで流れていくと、まるで境界を越えたかのように、すっと消えていくのです。
雲とは本来、消えていくもの。でもタイムラプスでその変化を見ていると、それはまるで目に見えない境界線を知っているかのように、淡く、静かにこの世界から姿を消していく。不思議で、どこか神秘的な光景です。
This is Taki Chiyama, a mountaintop in Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture.
When people hear “Atami,” they often picture a coastal hot spring town—but from this elevated spot, the view of Sagami Bay is truly exceptional. The breeze is gentle, and the vast horizon seems to set your mind free. It’s that kind of place.
For some reason, dramatic scenery tends to appear here with surprising frequency.
One spring morning last year, I witnessed rays of light pouring down across the entire bay—a vision so awe-inspiring, it felt as if a divine presence were descending from the heavens.

Watching the footage again recently, I noticed something I hadn’t seen before—a subtle phenomenon. As clouds drifted to a certain point in the sky, they suddenly vanished, as if they had crossed some invisible boundary.
Of course, clouds are always disappearing. But when viewed in time-lapse, their dissolution takes on a strange quality—like they somehow know where the edge of this world is, and quietly fade away beyond it. It’s mysterious, and oddly spiritual to witness.
