宇宙から届く光が、雪の大地を静かに照らします。
頭上に広がる空は、地上で見慣れた青とはまるで違う、
深く、深く、どこまでも澄み切った蒼。
標高2,600mを超える世界ならではの色です。
撮影したのは3月後半。
雪原にアイゼンを踏み込むたびに伝わる、雪をしっかりと捉える感触。
その感覚を楽しむように、人々は急斜面を蟻の列のように整然と、
山頂を目指して登っていきます。
この映像を公開するのは7月24日。
京都では祇園祭・後祭の山鉾巡行が行われ、夕方からは還幸祭。
酷暑の中で続く神事の一方で、この映像には氷点下の世界を吹き抜ける風が流れています。
ほんのひととき、
真夏の暑さを忘れ、
中央アルプスの極寒の空気を感じていただければ幸いです。

This is Senjojiki Cirque in the Central Alps, at an elevation of 2,612 meters (8,570 ft).
Light arriving from space gently illuminates the vast snowy landscape.
Above, the sky reveals a blue unlike anything seen at lower elevations—
deep, crystal clear, and seemingly endless.
It is a color that can only be experienced in the high mountains.
The footage was filmed in late March.
With every step, crampons bite firmly into the snow.
As if enjoying that reassuring sensation, climbers steadily make their way up the steep slope, moving in orderly lines like a trail of ants toward the summit.
This video will be released on July 24.
On the same day, Kyoto celebrates the Ato Matsuri of the Gion Festival, with the Yamahoko Procession taking place in the morning and the Kanko-sai procession in the evening.
While sacred rituals continue under the intense summer heat, this film carries the icy wind of the high mountains.
For just a moment,
I hope this scenery allows you to forget the midsummer heat
and feel the crisp, freezing air of the Central Alps.
