ここは鹿児島県奄美大島・あやまる岬。
奄美大島最北端に位置する笠利町の北東部、太平洋へと突き出した岬です。
この場所から見る朝陽は、季節や天候、湿度、そして風によって、毎回まったく異なる表情を見せてくれます。
視界を遮る人工物はほとんどなく、目の前に広がるのは太平洋の海とどこまでも続く空、そして時折流れてくる雲だけ。
夜明け前、水平線の遥か彼方が淡いオレンジ色に染まり始めると、深い青に包まれていた空が少しずつ明るさを増していきます。
低い雲、高い雲、さまざまな形の雲たちは、昇りゆく太陽の光を受けて次々と色を変え、刻々とその姿を変えていきます。
その光景を見つめていると、まるで地球全体が、今日も変わることなく太陽が昇ってきてくれたことに感謝しているように感じられます。
太陽が当たり前のように昇ることが、決して当たり前ではないことを、あやまる岬の朝は静かに教えてくれます。
ここに美しき日本があります。

This is Ayamaru Cape on Amami Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture.
Located on the northeastern coast of Kasari Town at the northern tip of Amami Oshima, this cape stretches out into the Pacific Ocean.
The sunrise seen from this place reveals a different expression each time, shaped by the season, the weather, the humidity, and the wind.
There are almost no man-made structures to interrupt the view. Before you lies only the vast Pacific Ocean, the endless sky, and the clouds that drift by from time to time.
Before dawn, the distant horizon slowly begins to glow with a soft orange light, and the deep blue sky gradually starts to brighten.
Low clouds, high clouds, and clouds of every shape catch the rising sunlight, changing color one after another as their forms continually shift.
Watching this scene, it feels as if the entire Earth is giving thanks that the sun has once again risen, just as it always has.
The morning at Ayamaru Cape quietly reminds us that the sun rising each day, something we often take for granted, is never truly something to be taken for granted.
