ここは、香川県三豊市・詫間町。
紫雲出山へ向かう途中の、道路脇からの風景です。
本来は紫雲出山から夕景を狙っていましたが、思うようなポイントに出会えず、半ば諦めかけたその時、この場所と出会いました。
新月から2日後。太陽を追うように、細い月が西の空へと沈んでいくタイミング。
まさにこの日、この瞬間のために用意されたかのような景色でした。
前日までは小豆島に滞在し、今朝は高松行きのフェリーで四国へ。
撮影の移動は、ほとんどがSKEN号（ハイエース）。
機材を積み込み、日本中を走り続け、気づけば走行距離はまもなく44万キロ。
それでも変わらず走り続けてくれる、頼もしい相棒です。
撮影はいつも、静かな余裕とはほど遠く、
2台のカメラの設置やレンズ交換、露出の確認に追われる時間。
コーヒーを淹れる余裕などなく、
撮って、片付けて、また次へ——その繰り返しです。
それでも、太陽の光を追いかけ、記録し、記憶していく。
その時間が、ただ純粋に好きなのだと思います。
この日の最後、細い月が太陽を追いかけるように沈んでいく。
その一瞬に広がる世界が、言葉にならないほど美しく、
私はまた、次の光を求めて旅に出ます。
ここに美しき日本があります。

This is Takuma Town in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture.
I captured this scene from a roadside spot on the way up to Mt. Shiude.
Originally, I planned to film the sunset from the summit, but I couldn’t find the right vantage point and was about to give up—when I came across this place.
It was two days after the new moon, a time when a slender crescent quietly follows the sun.
It felt as if this very moment had been waiting for me.
The day before, I was on Shodoshima Island, reached by ferry from Okayama.
This morning, I crossed over to Shikoku on a ferry bound for Takamatsu.
For most of my journeys, I travel with my SKEN vehicle (a Toyota HiAce), carrying all my gear across Japan.
With nearly 440,000 kilometers on the odometer, it has become a trusted companion that keeps going without fail.
Filming, however, is far from relaxed.
Setting up two cameras, changing lenses, checking exposure—there’s no time even for a cup of coffee.
Shoot, pack up, move on… and repeat.
Still, I keep chasing the light of the sun—recording it, turning it into memory.
Perhaps that’s simply what I love to do.
At the end of this day, the thin crescent moon sank, as if following the sun.
That fleeting moment was indescribably beautiful—
and once again, it sends me on a journey in search of the next light.
