ここは、熊本県天草下島にある 西平椿公園。
ここからは、雄大な天草灘を一望することができます。
この日は風が強く、雲が流れるように空を駆け抜けていました。
西寄りの太陽から放たれた光が雲間を突き抜け、
幾重にも重なりながら海面を照らしていく——まるで“光の協奏曲”のような光景。
夕景のロケハンのつもりで訪れたこの場所でしたが、
目の前に現れたのは、まるで神様が降りてくるかのような光芒。
気がつけば撮影を始めており、
強風の中、2時間以上も光が差し込み続けていました。
撮影前には、大江カトリック教会で
旅の安全と、良い光景に出会えるよう祈っていました。
その祈りが届いたかのように、空から光が降り注いだ瞬間でした。
ここに、美しき日本があります。

From Nishidaira Tsubaki Park on Amakusa Shimoshima,
you can overlook the vast expanse of the Amakusa Sea.
On this day, strong winds carried fast-moving clouds across the sky.
Sunlight streamed through the gaps,
casting countless rays of light onto the ocean below—
a breathtaking symphony of light.
What was meant to be a simple location scout
quickly turned into a full shoot.
As the light poured down for more than two hours,
it felt as if something divine had descended from the heavens.
Before filming, I had visited Oe Catholic Church
to pray for a safe journey and beautiful light.
Perhaps that prayer was answered.
Here lies the beauty of Japan.
