ここは、愛媛県久万高原にある面河渓（おもごけい）。
四国最高峰・石鎚山の南麓に広がる、四国最大の渓谷です。
この澄んだ流れは、高知県の「仁淀ブルー」で知られる仁淀川の源流域。
透明度が驚くほど高く、光の加減で青にもエメラルドグリーンにも見える水が、静かに大地を刻んでいます。
日本には本当に美しい水が多い――そう感じさせてくれる場所です。
ふと考えました。
水にも「一生」があるのだろうか。
空から降り、地を巡り、海へ、そしてまた空へ。
永遠に続くその循環の中で、
水は、地球の記憶を運びつづけているのかもしれません。
Omogo Valley, Ehime Prefecture
Nestled in the southern foothills of Mt. Ishizuchi—the highest peak in Shikoku—lies Omogo Valley, the largest gorge on the island.
Its crystal-clear stream forms part of the headwaters of the Niyodo River, famed for its “Niyodo Blue.”
The water shines with shifting hues—sometimes deep blue, sometimes emerald green—quietly carving the ancient earth.
Japan is truly blessed with beautiful waters.
And I found myself wondering:
Does water have a life of its own?
Falling from the sky, flowing through the land, returning to the sea—and rising again to the heavens.
Within that endless cycle,
perhaps water carries the memories of the Earth itself.
