ここには、畑の真ん中に立つ一本の見事な桜の木があります。この大きな桜はエドヒガンザクラで、樹齢はおよそ300年から400年といわれる古木です。優雅に枝を広げるその姿は、まるで自然の彫刻のようで、圧倒的な存在感を放っています。
桜並木が続く風景も美しいですが、一本桜ならではの堂々とした風格には特別な魅力があります。また、この場所の特長として、桜を八ヶ岳や富士山と絡めた撮影ができる点です。ただし、富士山を背景にしようとすると、すぐ近くに立つ大きな鉄塔がどうしても気になってしまいます。（「そこにないとダメですか？」と思わず言いたくなるのが正直なところです。）
とはいえ、八ヶ岳を背景に桜の立派な枝ぶりを眺めるだけでも十分に価値がある場所です。自然と調和したこの風景は、訪れるたびに優しい気持ちになれます。
Here stands a magnificent cherry tree in the middle of a field. This large tree is an Edohigan-zakura, a centuries-old tree said to be around 300 to 400 years old. Its gracefully spreading branches resemble a natural sculpture, exuding an overwhelming presence.
While the scenery of continuous rows of cherry blossoms is beautiful, the dignified grandeur of this solitary cherry tree offers a unique charm. One of the highlights of this spot is that you can capture the cherry blossoms with Mount Yatsugatake or Mount Fuji in the background. However, when attempting to photograph the tree with Mount Fuji, the large power line tower standing nearby can be a bit distracting. (You can’t help but think, “Does it really need to be right there?”)
Nevertheless, even just gazing at the cherry tree’s majestic branches against the backdrop of Mount Yatsugatake is more than enough to make the visit worthwhile. The harmony between nature and this ancient tree offers a serene and heartwarming experience every time you visit.
