ここは香川県の小豆島。夕景の美しさで有名な小豆島ですが、朝の光景もまた素晴らしいものがあります。瀬戸内海が生み出す多島美と穏やかな内海の景色は、どこまでも静かでやさしい雰囲気を醸し出しています。春霞の影響でしょうか、遥か彼方の水平線から昇る太陽が、まるで薄い紗幕をいくつも隔てて見ているかのように感じられます。こんな朝の光景に出会うと、身体の細胞が喜んでいるような感覚に包まれます。（これは私だけかもしれませんが…）朝の陽光を全身で浴びながら撮影をする時間は、本当に幸せだと心から思います。
さて、ここ福田海岸は、四国新聞社が主催する「さぬき百景」にも選ばれた場所です。その選定基準は詳しく知りませんが、人影も少なく、私にとってはとても落ち着ける海岸です。すぐ隣には福田港があり、ここからカーフェリーで姫路港への往復便が運航しています。この福田港のターミナルは数年前にリニューアルされましたが、昔は隣接する場所に穴子弁当のテイクアウト店があり、よく購入してフェリーの中で食べたものです。現在、そのお店は福田港から約5キロ手前に移転して営業を続けています。それでも、この福田港から姫路へ向かう際には、今でも必ずその穴子弁当を買い求めてフェリーに乗り込むのが私の楽しみのひとつです。
This is Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture. While Shodoshima is famous for its stunning sunsets, the morning scenery here is equally breathtaking. The Seto Inland Sea, known for its multi-island beauty and calm, sheltered waters, stretches out with a serene and tranquil charm. Perhaps due to the spring haze, the rising sun on the distant horizon appears as if viewed through layers of delicate veils. Witnessing such a morning scene makes me feel as though every cell in my body is rejoicing. (Perhaps it’s just me…) Standing in the morning sunlight, capturing these moments with my camera, fills me with pure happiness.
Now, let me talk about Fukuda Beach, which has been selected as one of the “Sanuki 100 Views,” an initiative by the Shikoku Shimbun. I’m not entirely sure about the criteria for this selection, but for me, it’s a wonderfully peaceful beach where I can truly relax. Right next to it is Fukuda Port, where a car ferry operates round trips to Himeji Port. The terminal at Fukuda Port was renovated a few years ago, but in the past, there used to be a takeaway shop nearby that sold anago (eel) bento. I often bought these bentos to enjoy on the ferry. The shop has since moved to a location about 5 kilometers away from the port but continues its operations. Even now, whenever I travel from Fukuda Port to Himeji, I always make sure to pick up one of these anago bentos to enjoy during the journey.
